CENTERPIECES
Blending artistry with technique, event centerpiece design is an art form in and of itself. Attendees will carefully assemble their own masterful floral centerpiece utilizing a romantic monochromatic palette of premium white roses, our locally-grown orchids, delicate eucalyptus and an assemblage of other wedding favorites. The design instructors will discuss a variety of centerpiece decor options, how to incorporate other elements into your design, and event styling.
Take your centerpiece home and enjoy its beauty long after the class has ended.

THE WEDDING SERIES:
BOUQUETS & BOUTONNIERES
One of, if not THE most important part of wedding floral decor, bouquets and boutonnieres are every bride’s favorite topic. Join our design masters in creating your own wildflower bouquet. Using fresh summery, bright blooms, class attendees will learn the technical and artistic side to bouquet and boutonniere design and development. Techniques learned, like spiralizing, floral selection, and boutonniere wiring will be discussed.
You will create both a bouquet and boutonniere to show off your skills!
JUNE 22, 6 PM

FLORAL CROWNS & HALOS
Perfect for weddings and events, outdoor picnics, music festivals or just because! The popular art of flower crowns, beloved throughout history as a celebration of the seasons, is a bohemian design skill that we’re excited to share! Fellow free spirited attendees will hand-select gorgeously blooming garden roses and any accent that catches their eye to compose a custom crown.
Wear your crown home and feel free to dance like nobody's watching.

THE PINTEREST-PERFECT SERIES:
VINTAGE OMBRE TRIO
The absolutely perfect class for dedicated DIY-ers, passionate pinners, and excited instagrammers. Create a picture-perfect ombre trio utilizing painting and distressing techniques on vintage Ball jars. Fill each jar with a bounty of blooming asters and fragrant stock in a gradient of color. Then set side-by-side on the kitchen windowsill, coffee table, vanity, or wherever your heart desires and snap away!
You will paint one ball jar, two will be pre-painted
JULY 13, 6 PM

THE PINTEREST-PERFECT SERIES:
PRESERVED COFFEE TABLE CENTERPIECE
Enjoy delicately handling, and designing with, perfectly preserved flowers to create this keepsake centerpiece. Using a distressed wooden crate and preserved hydrangea, starflower, goldenrod and other popular preserves, attendees will learn about color composition, how to care for your preserved design, and layering techniques. The best part, your final creation will last for years to come.
Colors and design will closely match photo.

About The Instructors

KATE SAKAGUCHI
Dr. Delphinium Floral Designer + Gift Basket Design
Kate has been with Dr Delphinium for 3 years, manages an array of high-end corporate accounts and is Gift Basket Design & Development Lead. She holds a degree in Horticulture and a minor in Business from Kansas State University. While at Kansas State she completed an internship with an events floral design company and upon graduation made the big move to the Big D and has been with us ever since.
TANA AVERY NELSON
Dr. Delphinium Floral Designer
Tana has been with Dr. Delphinium for 4 years and is the lead designer for the downtown Rosewood Crescent Hotel lobby floral installation. Tana has been working with flowers for sixteen years. She grew up surrounded by flowers in her grandmother’s shop. She has previous experience teaching floral classes, in Birmingham, Alabama. She has had the opportunity to represent the Unites States three times in the World Flower Council’s Annual Summit. Roll tide.
